The TPADP-TPH-PFQRF-USBC-140W-RD is an open frame 140 W universal USB-C Power Delivery (PD) power adapter reference design. It meets USB PD 3.1 requirements (up to 28 V/5 A) for universal chargers supporting smartphones, laptops and other IoT devices. The power supply uses the Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) CrM/DCM PFC controller (MP44018A) and the Flyback controller with integrated primary-side control circuitry and secondary-side synchronous rectification driver (MPX2002); Transphorm's TP65H150G4PS (650 V, 150 mΩ GaN FET), TP65H150G4LSG (650 V, 150 mΩ GaN FET); and Cypress's CYPD3175 USB PD controller. This design enables high power density (~28 W/in3) and over 92 percent efficiency at fullpower.
